A King of Kensington Event

November 10, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Kensington Market Historical Society presents a “King of Kensington” event with Fiona Reid and Ardon Bess. The King of Kensington was a TV show that ran on the CBC from 1975 to 1980. The show starred Al Waxman as Larry King, a convenience store owner in Kensington Market who was known for helping friends and neighbours solve problems. It had a gentle yet politically conscious humour. The show proved that Canadians wanted to see their own specific stories set in their own specific settings. It also starred Fiona Reid as the King’s wife Cathy and Ardon Bess as Larry’s friend Nestor Best. On November 10th please join the KMHS to warmly welcome Fiona and Ardon back to Kensington Market for an evening of stories and reminiscing about this iconic Canadian TV show.
