US vs. Them – 100 years of Social (Re)action in Kensington Market

June 7, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Kensington Market Historical Society presents a discussion on what we hope will be the first of several events (not necessarily sequential) focusing on our remarkable history of response to inequity, gentrification and urban "renewal". Long-time residents David Perlman, Su Alexanian, Mike Constable and Dominique Russell will talk about protests, publications, alternative education and various other forms of activism in response to local and international events that have pitted the Market against prevailing ideologies. We hope to shed shome light on this distinctive feature of Kensington Market.
